All that an Afghan girl needs
is a book to read
a pen to write
school to learn
shelter to spend the night
a sleep without fear
a life without suffering
to wake up with the voice of birds not bombs
blasting
a father’s support
mother’s love
brother’s hug
and a little appreciation for all the hard work
we do every day
because we never lose hope until you hide
the sunlight
and we will search everywhere
we will knock on every door
until we find the way to regain our rights
we will never stop fighting
not until you know how to treat us
with goodness and love and with respect
